David Ice

David M. Ice began his harp education in 1977 under the tutelage of Adienne Bradley in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a form of relaxation therapy to relieve stress from his work on the TV series Grizzly Adams.  His later teachers include Marjorie Call-Salzedo and David Watkins (former principal harp of the London Philharmonic Orchestra).  Fate led him into professional playing, even though that was never his intention.  He is currently Principal Harp with the Musica Nova Symphony in Scottsdale, and has played with many other local and regional orchestras and operas, in addition to doing pit work for shows and musicals.

David is also (to the best of anyone’s knowledge) the only professional harpist who is also a professional film editor.  David worked in Hollywood for many years, primarily as a sound editor.  His credits include the last six seasons of M*A*S*H  and over 65 feature films, as well as countless other hours of television programs including The Fall Guy, Trapper John M.D., Moonlighting, The Paper Chase, and many others.
